Business Development Director – Market Research Firm

Our client is a market research services firm seeking a Business Development Director. This position is principally responsible for generating and growing revenue across a number of different verticals. The Business Development Director identifies, solicits, and secures business opportunities from individuals, companies, and organizations with a need for market research services, including but not limited to telephone data collection.

 

Responsibilities include:

·        Increasing revenues by identifying, soliciting, and securing work from individuals, companies and organizations.

·        Cultivating ongoing relationships with qualified prospects.

·        Maintaining a rigorous schedule of in-person and remove prospect and client calls and meetings to drive top-of-the-funnel activity.

·        Developing winning price quotes and/or proposals in response to emergent business opportunities.

·        Supporting Client Services department as requested by clarifying project specifications and/or execution details, and interfacing with the client when necessary.

·        Facilitating teaming arrangements with other firms or subject matter experts to win additional business.

·        Developing profiles of target customer prospects and formulating customer contact strategies.

·        Maintaining familiarity with all products and services, including methods of pricing and estimating projects.

·        Attending industry conferences and events to raise awareness.

·        Conducting other activities as directed by the CMO.

 

Qualifications:

  • Superior client focus.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communications, public speaking, and presentation skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and can work independently as well as with a team.
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Positive and “can-do” attitude.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, sales, or other relevant field; equivalent work experience accepted in lieu of a 4-year degree.
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in a sales role.
  • Solid knowledge of different sales techniques and pipeline management approaches.
  • Excellent critical thinking, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision and under high pressure.
  • Proven working experience as a business development manager, sales executive, or a relevant role.
  • Proven track record in sales, business development and winning new business.
  • Familiarity with common CRM systems, such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or ACT.
