Job Summary
Directs and coordinates the activities of a manufacturing plant by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

Convenes with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards, develop budget and cost controls, and to obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
Plans production activities and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
Organize production activities with purchasing, planning, production, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
Reviews production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems.

Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.

Implement and maintain lean/Six Sigma initiatives in the facility.
Modifies production schedules and priorities due to equipment failure or operating problems.

Consults with engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment to improve production and quality of products.

Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
Responds promptly to customer needs.

Follows policies and procedures and uses equipment and materials properly.

Enforces all food safety and food quality policies and procedures.
Observes safety and security procedures and reports potentially unsafe conditions.
Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals.

Manage several subordinate Managers who supervise approximately 130 employees in the Maintenance, Planning, Production, Quality and Warehouse Departments. 
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university and a minimum of seven years’ experience in a manufacturing supervisory role. Experience in a food manufacturing or processing environment is required.
Personal Skills

Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Ability to calculate discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Ability to problem solve and deal with a variety of variables.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
