SUMMARY
 
The direct staff for this position will consist of individuals across logistics and network management, product supply, product optimization/commercialization, and 3rd party specialty package production.  This role will interact with all manufacturing facilities and be the voice of the organization for balancing sales demand and operational efficiency. This role will be responsible to partner with numerous areas of our operation and must be able to flex between disciplines easily to achieve top level results.   The right person for this role should recognize themselves as a coach to their teams, driver of improvement and a problem solver to correct issues at their root cause.
 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for the growth and development of direct staff (Logistics, Product Supply, Project Mgt, 3rd party
  • Leader of the Logistics team and dedicated freight services
  • Leader for routing optimization and the development of the current Traffic Management System (TMS)
  • Balancing cost and service across our freight categories (inbound, back haul, out bound)  
  • Partner with logistics’ teams to minimize freight cost and improve our traffic networks’ ability to remove cost and delivery product successfully at a high level (leverage TMS solutions and order fulfillment)
  • Must possesses critical thinking skills, can build and drive a team’s vision and achieve results
  • Responsible to be the lead planner for our seasonal build plans across all facilities
  • Project manager oversight and involvement for new commercialization projects  for Foodservice and Retail product categories (Limited time offers, Promotional & New Product launches)
  • Ability to build business cases from a sku rationalization standpoint
  • Sales and Operations Planning point, continued to be developer of the process and create processes to support the company's growing business
  • Coach for across site supply chain team members for when to challenge the status quo and to find new ways to improve performance across all 4 areas of business (people, service, quality and cost)
  • Find ways to drive down inventory levels to optimal levels while maintain and very high customer fulfillment rate (99+%) and with growing list of available sku’s to produce.
  • Ability to identify and implement scheduling optimization tools and improvements (forecast systems, change over reductions, optimal sku runs, ABC item analysis)
  • Order management and lead time conduit between order entry, customer service and logistics to work through issues and obstacles
  • Support a growing relationship between operations and sales teams (Foodservice and Retail groups) to handle strategies and plans for where the business will be developing in the 3-5 year future (package size, order types,)
  • Key person for analytical insight on production capacity, bottleneck identification and determining opportunities and developing action plans that will achieve results.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelors (B. A.) or equivalent from four-year College
5-7 years min of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Project Management Skills and a history of process improvement
Supply Chain Planning experience (scheduling, logistics)
S&OP leadership of process and overall results
 
 
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Forecasting experience in using external systems as well as building you own tools to forecast.
 
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
