Our client is looking for a self-motivated Embedded Software Design Engineer who would like to get in on the ground floor of working with a new generation of products.  In this role you will be working with a wide variety of technologies and platforms.  
The ideal individual will have an Electrical Engineering background with some programming.

In this software engineering position you will provide embedded software development support.  This includes both new development and maintenance of legacy code.  You will be responsible for requirements definition, designing software, writing code, testing new and legacy code, and documenting these efforts.  You will work closely with Program Management, other project team members, customer representative and participate in bi-weekly software meetings.  Occasional travel to support offsite testing will also be required.

Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Software or Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science with 4+ years of experience or Master's Degree with 2+ years of experience.
  • 2+ years proficiency with the C programming language. 
  • Ability to obtain a US Government security clearance.  Security clearances are granted to U.S. citizens.
Desired Skills:
  • High level of initiative with ability to self-manage
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • DSP development experience with Blackfin, Texas Instruments, or ARM processors 
  • Experience in developing software (C) under Linux 
  • Experience with the Eclipse IDE environment 
  • Java experience
  • General Python experience 
  • Matlab experience
  • Training or experience in digital signal processing concepts
  • Demonstrated knowledge of interfaces between processor circuitry and external hardware - A/D, D/A, serial interfaces, flash memory, etc. 
  • Excellent analytical skills 
Additional Requirements:
  • Willing to Travel to Customer Test Sites
  • Effective Verbal and Written Communication Skills              
  • Normal Finger Dexterity and Color Vision
  • Computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office.                         
  • Software development tools, emulators, simulators, etc.
  • Willing to use tools such as oscilloscope, logic analyzer, audio test equipment and other electrical test equipment
Prefer local candidate or someone with ties to the area.
