Our client is a leader in the production of beverage additives, food additives, and specialty chemicals with multiple US sites. This person would be based in IA at a large PSM and FDA-regulated production facility. The primary responsibility of this role will be the management of all aspects of the Environmental Department, including air, wastewater (they adjoin a river) and solid waste for this site in Iowa and for a medium-sized sister site in IN. Additionally, this person will support 10 other small sites throughout the US (about 20% of the role). Direct responsibilities at the Iowa facility will include supervision of clerical environmental technicians, a process engineer and wastewater technicians, the IN site requires the indirect supervision of a technician. This person will work with personnel at every level of the company, from executives to operators as well as local, state, and federal agencies. The team in place is very competent and professional, leaving more time for this person to focus on big picture strategy and improvements. Currently new process changes are being implemented and capital is being spent for updating equipment to improve profitability and meet the highest of environmental standards. - B.S. degree in Engineering or Sciences
- 12+ years with experience in water, air and solid waste regulations out a facility producing chemicals, foods or mechanically assembled items
- 5+ years of prior supervision experience required
- Candidates will ideally come from a medium-to-large facility with PSD and wastewater discharge regulations
