Job seekers who constantly make the same job search mistakes do not get a second chance to make a good impression

Knowing who you are and where you fit regarding a career is your greatest asset. Before the age of the internet, many of us have had times in our earlier career path of uncertainty about our target interest and what excites us most. Using the modern job search methods provided by the internet can provide you with a visual insight into so many career paths and/or industries that may utilize your strongest skills and meet your needs as a person.

JOB SEARCH TIP

The next generation will have access to jobs that have not yet been created. That means keep your eyes on the latest jobs and soon to be main-stream technology such as Hydrogen Cars, or Hydrogen planes and the need to construct Hydrogen fueling stations. Both are far into the R&D stage and will need employees to make these products and services main-stream.

If your education, your degree has a track record of a positive (ROI) return on investment then you can have confidence that your skills will be in demand for the modern jobs. Obviously our economy is growing in a dominate technology path of different types and job categories.

JOB SEARCH MISTAKES

When job hunting one size does not fit all as you job search. Old-school job search of reviewing job postings and new-school job searching via networking, referrals, and other contacts have its pros and cons. All of the above may provide more return than just doing one or the other. The success numbers are not great with just submitting to job postings so spread your efforts out and have a diverse approach. Remember, know who you are and your interest.

It is not hard to stand out when someone responds to your job search inquiry? Many job seekers are not prepared to share their positive can-do personalities during the job search process.

After 25 years of using behavior-based interviews, as an HR professional and recruiter, I have noticed those candidates that stand out are genuine, confident but real, calm/assertive, with a can-do attitude. Communications skills, team work, and engendering others to generate trust from colleagues leaves a lasting impression.
