Manufacturer is seeking a PLC Engineer to join their team and focus on the development and improvement of the plant's automation system.  The PLC Engineer will manage multiple projects at a time in a team oriented work environment.  Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:  
  • Complete Allen Bradley PLC troubleshooting and programming from scratch 
  • HMI programming
  • Partner with a team of controls and systems professionals to review, test and execute new software
  • Make modifications to programs in order to continuously improve OEE
  • Review production metrics and KPIs and suggest software and programming initiatives 
  • Manage outsourced panel design projects, including communicating with external vendors and suppliers 
  • Work with vendors on the status of new equipment projects  
  • Manage multiple projects at a time, adhering to timelines
  • Other duties directed by management
 
This position does require travel within the United States, mostly the Midwest and the east coast.  Candidates must be willing to travel up to two weeks at a time.  Travel is heavier based on projects at multiple sites and is not year around.  

Candidates should be self directed, able to manage multiple projects in different stages, be assertive and have a sense of urgency.  The company does offer competitive medical benefits day one of employment, life and disability insurance, vacation, paid holidays and 401K.

REQUIREMENTS for the PLC Engineer:
1. A bachelor's degree is preferred, experience will be considered in lieu of a degree 
2. Depending on the level of education, at least 2-3 years in a similar controls or PLC engineering position 
3. Experience troubleshooting and programming PLCs 
4. Experience working in manufacturing   
5. Experience working with hardware, including drives, motors, sensors, etc. 
6. Working knowledge of panel design 
7. Microsoft Office

Skills preferred but NOT required:
1. Experience working Rockwell automation and Allen Bradley PLC 
2. Experience working for an OEM or integrator 
3. Experience working with SCADA systems 
4. Working knowledge of networking
