Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Design and develop new functionality with minimal defects
• Collaborate with both technical and business resources
• Accept direction from Senior Developers, Solution Architect and others
• Coach and mentor junior developers
• Monitor and maintain production applications to ensure high-availability and minimize downtime
• Provide updates on status and raise issues in a timely manner
• Consistently follow IT standards, policies and best practices
• Provide off hours support when required

Position Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or management information systems from an accredited four-year college or university or comparable experience
• Two or more years of experience programming with the languages and tools for either the web platform and/or the Mainframe (i.e. Java, C#, HTML, CSS, Javascript, COBOL, CICS, VSAM, etc.)
• Experience programming in a relational database environment
• For the web platform, experience with the Struts Framework or .Net and JavaScript preferred
• Insurance industry experience preferred
• Knowledge of software development methodologies, processes and project governance; experience with the Agile development methodology preferred

FTEs or Contractors are required to be on site in Wooster Ohio for the first 90 days.  After the first 90 days they would be eligible for 2 days Work From Home based on performance.
