Well established, 50+ yr old defense contractor that specializes in highly technical intelligent systems/products has an immediate opening for an experienced EMI Test Engineer. Low turnover, strong growth, positive upbeat culture. We are looking for a strong EMI Test Engineer who can hit the ground running. Role sits at NRL in Washington DC, and this facility drives innovative advances for Navy & Marine Corp (seafloor to space)!


Key elements to this position:

Conduct/lead EMI testing per MIL-STD-461 and/or other specifications (spaceflight, systems, subsystems – many applications). You’ll be responsible for tailoring requirements to customer’s needs

Be an expert for the site; lead the EMI test facility (calibration programs, recommendations for upgrades, selection of test HW & SW)

Guide teams through the process; designers, systems engineers, design/integration teams, troubleshooting

Support on-orbit projects; being a SME in EMI causes and effects

Prepare formal qualification test reports for customers and for formal/informal design reviews


Desired Qualifications

  • Active Secret Clearance Required; TS Clearable
  • Bachelor degree in EE or similar field
  • 8+ years experience in EMI Test per MIL-STD-461 Standards (and other standards)
  • RF Systems, Box-level subsystems EMI testing experience
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects, priorities, and time frames.
