Plant Superintendent
Directs and coordinates activities concerned with production of company product(s) by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
Confers with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards, develop budget and cost controls, and to obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
Plans and directs production activities and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
Manages and directs the activities and priorities of the Maintenance, Production Planning and scheduling Departments.
Coordinates production activities with purchasing, planning, production, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications, and operating or production problems.
Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
Create a positive work environment, fostering teamwork and cooperation.
Create, implement and maintain lean/Six Sigma initiatives in the facility.
Revises production schedules and priorities as result of equipment failure or operating problems.
Consults with engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.
Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.
Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
Makes timely decisions, exhibits sound and accurate judgment, and communicates changes effectively.
Includes appropriate people in decision-making process and supports and explains reasoning for decisions.
Manages competing demands and changes approach or method to best fit the situation.
Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events and reacts well under pressure.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in Business Management, food science, food technology, or related field, Lean/Six Sigma training and three to five years experience in a Production Supervisory role and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in Food or Beverage Manufacturing a Must.
