HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO AS MORTGAGE UNDERWRITER
Perform analysis for capacity, capital, character, and condition of each loan.
Review credit history and calculate the value of a borrower’s collateral and assets
Ensure loan requests meet program and product specifications.
Ensure property specifications and loan terms meet financial institution requirements and government regulations.
Communicate decisions (approval, suspense, denial) to appropriate individuals within the organization.
Document and communicate reasons for approval or denial of loan.
Upholds the fair lending practices of our client
Meets targets for productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction
Develops potential referrals and sales of bank products and services via personal and professional contracts.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as defined by Management.
HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED TO BE QUALIFIED AS A MORTGAGE UNDERWRITER
High school diploma or equivalent required
1 to 5 years underwriting experience
Proficiency in MS Word and Excel software applications
Self-starter - ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks
IF YOU HAVE THESE SKILLS, YOU ARE IN HIGH DEMAND
- Prior experience in the banking industry
- Certification in FHA, VA, and USDA, preferred
