Looking for a smaller community(25K population), that offers a low cost of living(18% lower than US average) and plenty of activities in the area but is within an hour of a large city.
If so, an opportunity to work with an integrated health care system based in east central Ohio is looking for someone to join their team.
The system is a not-for-profit and has over 300 physicians and multiple outpatient care centers throughout the area.
The system is the largest provider in a six county region and a primary referral center.
It offers a higher level of service than what is typically found in a community of its size including open-heart surgery, trauma care, a Level II neonatal intermediate care unit, neurosurgery and
comprehensive cancer services.
SUMMARY:
Responsible for the management of all aspects of the credit union (i.e. marketing, employee relations, strategic planning, asset liability management etc).
Responsible for ensuring financial stability commensurate with the best interest of the members, the employees, and the credit union.
Serves as primary liaison to facilitate cooperation within the credit union, the Board of Directors and customers of the credit union.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Ensures that the credit union is in compliance with the federal laws and regulations set forth by the State of Ohio and other regulatory agencies.
-Responsible for the development and implementation of the credit union’s auditing procedures.
-Monitors the credit union for compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) creating appropriate auditing reports for internal and external auditors.
-Oversees the credit union’s investment portfolio and make investment decisions and purchases consistent with the credit union’s investment policies.
-Reviews and monitors monthly reconciliation’s of all accounts to their supporting detail to ensure accurate balances are reflected in the financial reports.
-Monitors current cash status to ensure meeting immediate cash disbursement needs.
-Serves as Loan Officer to review and approve loans within established policies and guidelines as set forth by the Board of Directors and NCUA.
-Makes determination on loan eligibility of applicant based on all pertinent information according to policies and procedures determined by the Board of Directors of the credit union.
-Explains reasons for denial of loans in manner acceptable to best practice of customer relations of credit union.
-Supervises budget for credit union that is consistent with overall strategic plan.
-Manages security and safety for the credit union; analyze security and safety policies and procedures and to alert staff of any changes.
-Oversees the preparation, maintenance and overall integrity of the financial reporting for the credit union.
-Informs Board of Directors of work-in-progress and other relevant issues on a timely basis.
-Evaluates the job performance of credit union staff to ensure quality service to members.
-Makes decisions for the best practice and in the best interest of the credit union.
-Suggests policy changes to credit union Board of Directors that will facilitate the credit union’s compliance program and disseminates information regarding laws and regulations to Board of Directors as well as all credit union staff.
-Develops accounting process/procedures to ensure safeguarding of credit union assets.
-Develops, recommends, and implements financial policies and procedures.
-Gathers background information on loan applicants and obtaining credit bureau reports.
-Suggests implementation of new loan products and services in accordance with Board of Directors direction.
-Oversees collection efforts for delinquent loans and recovery possibilities for charged off loans in compliance with the credit union’s collection policy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree in Finance, Business or Accounting required.
5 years of banking/Credit Union experience in a leadership role required.
Must have ability to manage multiple tasks and multiple systems.
Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency using spreadsheet software (i.e., Lotus or Excel).
Knowledge of accounting principals (GAAP).
Knowledge of computerized financial processing systems.
ADDITIONAL INFO:
Position reports to the Corporate Controller. The person will have 3 direct reports consisting of loan officer and service reps.
The hospital will offer a range between 51K-70K depending on experience and a great benefit package.
