Develop, execute, and implement a Sales Inventory and Operations Planning process and strategy focused on the Company’s North American, APAC, and LATAM business and operational footprint with close coordination and alignment with the Company’s EMEA business and operational footprint.

The SIOP strategy and processes will include demand planning and forecasting, manufacturing, capacity planning and management with key KPIs to include Inventory, fill rate and on-time delivery (including intercompany).

he SIOP director will be a critical member of the Company leadership team in developing and evolving the SIOP processes globally, as well as driving operational efficiencies as well as leading development and implementation of SIOP processes for a new ERP implementation in 2021/22.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with Commercial, Finance, and Operations teams to build partnerships with global and local teams for effective Supply Chain performance and planning accuracy. a. Develop and maintain demand forecasts, target service levels in collaboration with commercial teams and product management. b. Establish and maintain finished good inventory target levels. c. Translate demand forecast to manufacturing requirements and identify/resolve capacity constraints or opportunities.

  2. Establish and implement procedures and systems for all SIOP Department activities.

  3. Key leader in transition of current to future ERP systems.

  4. Create and review/develop the SIOP strategy. In collaboration with local Operations teams, implement and monitor execution of key improvement initiatives.

  5. Identify and implement opportunities to make step changes in SIOP operational processes, utilizing internal and external benchmarking, lean methodology, six-sigma, and value stream mapping.

  6. Lead person on key operational decisions that have global implications such as Target Level Inventories; stock fill; ERP management. Interact with Sales, Operations, Quality, and Production Planning teams to assess stock fill, target level inventories, material quantities usage, schedule adherence, ERP utilization, and drive finished goods inventory to achieve the strategy while assisting with inventory goals.

  7. Regular reporting on manufacturing, planning, and inventory performance.

  8. Support and lead all critical Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) tasks including, but not limited to: a. Participate in building a strategic 3-year plan with a goal of recognizing a 2.5% to 3% reduction in total material COGS and significant reduction in inventory each year. b. Develop standardized Site Scorecard and implement EOQ and Schedule Adherence strategies starting with quick wins in year 1 and broader plans in years 2 and 3. c. Assess inventory and work with sites to align with MRP, current inventories, and Supplier agreements to assist in inventory reduction. d. Develop and implement Inventory Reporting KPIs. e. Develop roadmap and lead implementation of Supply Chain module in transition from current to new ERP systems in order to maximize cross-site demand and inventory visibility. f. Establish and maintain the Site ERP Planning KPI metrics that measure the performance of the SIOP, Production Planning, and Site Scheduling functions and support Site/Cross Site OpEx Continuous Improvement.

  9. Work with IT and other resources to define & guide ERP utilization toward the end of creating data linkages that will support Supply Chain Analytics and daily demand-based actions.

  10. Support key Strategy Deployment projects with goals to manage and reduce inventory and respective turns. a. Analyze total inventory spend by Quarter and develop reduction plan working with Site Teams. b. Raw and Consumable material inventory reduction execution based on multi-site volume aggregation, part number reduction, VMI options, and optimal intercompany flow. c. Identify areas of excess and reduce per plan.

  11. Work with Site Leads and General Managers to develop site organizational structure to align and cascade SIOP roles and responsibilities. Work with HR Business Partner to establish an effective organizational structure and staff responsibilities. Provide for staff training and development.

  12. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws and supported by the HR Business Partner. a. Support interviewing, hiring, and training of all Global Supply Chain employees. b. Support developing SIOP employees at sites and resolving problems.

Special Location/Position Requirements:

  • Experience in implementation of ERP platforms (for example, SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Experience with Factory Intelligence systems.
  • Must be able to travel within the US and worldwide to sites as needed.
  • Must have good time management, planning, and negotiation skills.
  • Adherence with all Company policies.

Job Specifications (Work Experience, Skills, Abilities, etc.):

  • Broad knowledge of business economics as related to the Production Planning, ERP Optimizations.
  • Ability to respond to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to write detailed reports and correspondence using original and/or innovative techniques or style.
  • Ability to speak effectively before individuals or large groups of customers, suppliers, or other employees.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Work well with subordinates, peers, and superiors in all departments as well as external contacts.

Education Requirements: Four-year college degree or equivalent of 10 years’ relevant work experience

Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions: Normal office conditions. Office may be located in a two-story office building. May require long periods of sitting, telephone work and/or computer work, as well as interaction with other people. Normal office conditions include walking, standing, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, lifting, driving, and/or traveling.
