Join a rapidly growing privately-held architectural and engineering design firm as a Structural Engineer with primary responsibilities as a high producer for a growing Structural division. You will work on a variety of commercial, retail, residential, and light industrial projects throughout the Midwest. An active Professional Engineer (PE) license is required, with reciprocity from neighboring states being available. Must have aspirations of obtaining Structural Engineer licensure.


Essential Job Functions include:

  • Independently perform structural and civil engineering assignments to support active projects.
  • Prepare studies, reports, design reviews, design specifications, and construction cost estimates.
  • Perform engineering analysis of structural systems and components.
  • Lead small to medium sized projects, working with clients and sub-consultants.
  • Design major structures, prepare working drawings, and complete related project documentation.
  • Assist in ensuring profitability of Structural department by meeting deadlines and delivering high quality work.

Qualifications include:

  • B.S. in Structural Engineering or related technical degree.
  • 5+ years of structural engineering design/project experience.
  • Expertise with load calculations and structural design elements, including structural steel, concrete, and light-gauge, light-frame timber.
  • Light industrial, commercial, and retail structural design experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of high seismic and hurricane wind design standards preferred.
  • Pre-stressed and post-tensioned concrete experience preferred.
  • Expertise with AutoCAD required, proficiency with Revit and Bentley Structural Systems preferred.
  • Highly organized, great attention to detail, and sense of urgency in completing deliverables within defined timelines.
  • Strong competitive drive and thrives in a “work hard, play hard” team culture.
  • Team-oriented attitude that fosters collaboration and shared success.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
