The Sr. Product Engineer candidate will ideally have Circuit Card experience, to include any or some of the following: PCB, CCA, plated through-hole, multi-layer boards, flexible boards, Rework and repair of PCB’s. General knowledge of Electronics Workmanship Standards (IPC, J-STD-001) would be preferred, but not mandatory.

As a member of the Operations Engineering Team, a production factory first mindset is needed to be successful in this role. This role supports the Mechanical and Industrial Process aspects found in Aircraft Electronics A&T. Candidates with assembly process experience and proven CCA (circuit card assembly) manufacturing abilities will be considered. Technical documentation updates and process development will be required along with the ability to provide direction on repair, rework, development of product and factory equipment, fixtures, and tooling. Support of complex Electronic control unit assemblies that have many mechanical and assembly process engineering requirements related to printed circuit boards, Circuit Card Assemblies, and specifically associated electronics enclosure machined part, assembly designs, and drawings.

You will also support efforts to identify root causes of failures and sub-standard performance and improve efficiency. Support development of short- and long-term action plans to remedy root causes and improve efficiency. Provide routine technical support and expertise to manufacturing personnel. Manage process compliance to industry standards and Work Instructions. Support Product and Quality teams during process-related customer inquiries and escalations. Identify gaps in current capabilities and support the evaluation of potential solutions to fill needs. Lead identification and qualification of external service suppliers (coating, tinning, rework, etc.).

As Sr. Product Engineer, you will:

  • Supports all phases of the product life cycle including development, new product introduction (NPI), product transfer, and product delivery by:
  • Initiating clear production assembly/test instructions to operations personnel to maintain efficient production. These instructions include formal Work Instructions, Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP / PAT), engineering memos, and Electronic Historical Record (EHR) entries
  • Defining and scheduling the development of equipment to meet production requirements for the operations department. These include assembly fixtures and tools, production flow-line systems, and test equipment.
  • Assuring and maintaining product integrity, and quality in production products. The Senior Product engineer does this by collaborating with other resources to resolve production problems, performing Material Review Board (MRB) analyses, and assisting in evaluation for possible notice of escape (NOE) to customers.
  • Developing a thorough understanding of all design principles associated with assigned products. Supporting the facilitation of design changes driven by the above items by redlining drawings, attending Change Review Board (CRB), and starting the EO process.
  • Training, coordinating, and evaluating the efforts of Product Engineers, Associate Product Engineers, and Co-ops to support department goals
  • Review of preliminary design concepts for manufacturability, assembly error-proofing, fixturing and tooling needs assessment, and ease of manufacture.

Here are the skills you will bring with you:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering + 5 years of relevant technical experience; or equivalent:
  • Masters of Science Degree in Engineering + 3 years of relevant technical experience
  • Bachelor of Technology Degree in Engineering + 8 years of relevant technical experience
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detailed working knowledge of machined parts and assemblies or electronics (or related technologies), both top-level and subassemblies, preferably with electronics packaging.
  • Detailed working knowledge of machined parts and assemblies or electronics (or related technologies) assembly and test areas, including extensive interfacing with technicians
  • Proven experience coordinating and interfacing with customers and/or suppliers on complex projects or issues.
  • General knowledge in areas of Root Cause / Corrective Action, LEAN, Project Planning, Product line transfer and Data Acquisition and Analysis.
  • This position requires access to US Export Controlled Information


  • Mechanical Engineer with electro-mechanical and/or electronic assemblies experience
  • Circuit card and/or PCB experience

Ideal candidate will be a current Mechanical Engineer with electro-mechanical and/or electronic assembly experience. Experience with circuit cards (CCA) and/or PCBs would seal the deal.
