Job Duties

  • Manage and work alongside intake assessment, interior & exterior detailing and body shop technicians
  • Maintain profitability while controlling expenses and maintaining excellent customer service
  • Manage employee payroll, vacation requests and OT needs
  • Review, coach and communicate performance expectations to direct reports
  • Implement training plans for all employees, from new hires to advanced skilled technicians
  • Communicate disciplinary issues with your Manager, determine resolutions and implement corrective actions
  • Manage throughput, capacity, goal setting and KPI’s for department
  • Maintain and enforce body shop safety, quality and cleanliness standards
  • Audit check ins, QC checklists, workshop orders and vehicles
  • Complete work orders daily and ensure check ins are done on time in D365 ERP system
  • Maintain equipment and schedule preventative maintenance
  • Complete expense reports on time with accurate information
  • Review, approve, code and investigate invoices
  • Order and inventory necessary supplies and parts for body shop
    • Utilize national accounts, direct vendors and aftermarket suppliers as much as possible to reduce costs
  • Reports to Director of Operations

Requirements:

  • 2 years of automotive management and automotive customer service experience
  • 2 years of experience in an autobody repair facility
    • Paint booth
    • Bed lining
    • PDR (Paint Damage Repair)
    • Damage estimating, assessments and quoting
    • Detailing
  • Troubleshoot basic automotive mechanical and electrical problems
  • Knowledge of and ability to use a variety of hand and power tools
  • Proficient in the use of web applications, word processing, e-mail and spreadsheets
  • Experience managing department profitability
  • Developed reasoning/problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills
  • Ability to build and maintain good rapport with internal and external customers and handle situations with confidence, tact and resourcefulness
  • Flexible and adaptable with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have valid driver’s license
