Summary of the Electrical Design Engineer – Power Electronics


Our client, a leader in automotive power and electrification technologies, is looking for a Power Electronics Design Engineer to join their growing team in Michigan.  In this position, you'll perform design and analysis of electronic circuits for vehicle power systems.  You'll take your projects through the full life-cycle, from concept to design, validation, and production launch.

Responsibilities of the Electrical Design Engineer – Power Electronics


  • Develop product hardware/circuit designs to meet customer specifications and requirements.
  • Prepare and lead design review meetings.
  • Prepare technical and cost proposals and make technical presentations of new designs to customers.
  • Prepare design verification and process validation test plans; may be responsible for conducting these tests.
  • Reviews, checks and critiques other designs.



Qualifications of the Electrical Design Engineer – Power Electronics


  • BS in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (MS is a plus) and/or pass Circuit Design Test.
  • 2+ years of experience in electronic circuit design, with some knowledge of automotive standards.
  • Your experience should include simulation and worst-case circuit analysis(WCCA)
  • Knowledgeable in electrical and electromechanical materials and components, circuit and PCB design to meet EMC requirements.
  • Knowledgeable in transducers, sensors, data acquisition and laboratory equipment.
  • Ability to:
    - Write hardware-software interface requirements.
    - Use measurement and test equipment.
    - Use circuit simulation tools.
  • Experience writing technical test plans and test specifications.
  • Skilled in soldering / desoldering components.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).


Compensation of the Electrical Design Engineer – Power Electronics

Salary Range: $95,000-115,000/year, depending on qualifications

Type: Direct-Hire
Travel: Minimal
Relocation Assistance: Subject to review
