Maintenance Supervisor - 3rd shift

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor, 3rd shift. and will report to the Maintenance Manager.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
    • Plan, assign, coordinate, set priorities and evaluate work of the maintenance staff; providing direction regarding repairs, preventative maintenance, and trouble-shooting of equipment.
    • Identify areas for equipment, process or work procedure improvement and communicate with manager.
    • Ensure staff adherence to all company policies and procedures including safety, HAACP, GMP; address any violations through coaching; utilize support from human resources as necessary.
    • Utilize CMMS program to manage all work orders, evaluate effectiveness and efficiency of the department and to identify areas for improvement.
    • Ensure operations and scheduling is kept informed of down time durations and repair status.
    • Communicate between areas and shifts to ensure people understand status of repairs, equipment downtime and priorities
    • Complete incident paperwork as necessary for all food and/or safety incidents; work with quality and safety regarding any investigation.
    • Conduct accident investigations and complete incident paperwork as necessary
    • Inspect department for general housekeeping and equipment repair, request work orders as necessary
    • Work closely with the production management team to ensure operations are functioning efficiently with goal of meeting commitments made to customers.

    Employee Relations
    • Demonstrate positive leadership practices including setting clear goals with employees and providing regular feedback.
    • Ensure implementation and effectiveness of new hire training, cross training, training on revised SOP procedures or transfer training for assigned area.
    • Identify areas of need for hiring and cross-training to ensure staff qualified to meet the needs of the department and internal customers; develop career plans and training opportunities for staff
    • Conduct routine crew meetings to review departmental goals, address opportunities for improvement and discuss projects.
    • Address performance issues through coaching, mentoring.
    • Perform other duties as assigned
Key Qualifications Include
  • Associates’ Degree (or higher) in Engineering or Industrial Technology or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Three or more years of experience in industrial maintenance with at least two or more years of experience in a leadership capacity (lead role qualifies)
  • Prior experience in a beverage, food or other clean manufacturing environment with familiarity with quality, GMP and hygiene regulations preferred.
  • Prior experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, electric systems and PLC control systems and communication systems.
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs with a grasp of financial factors in maintenance.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Suite applications business management software (SAP preferred) needed.
  • Understanding of production processes &amp technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • Continuous improvement or process improvement experience. Green belt or black belt certification or prior TPM experience preferred.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills with the ability to facilitate change
  • Time management, delegation and organization skills with strong problem solving ability
  • Ability to grow relationships with business partners and to lead, coach and develop employee
