Brief Job Overview:
The Materials Manager leads an innovative team in managing Production Planning, Scheduling, and Material Control for 7 manufacturing plants in the Salina Kansas area. Use your proven leadership skills to lead on-site and remote teams (3 Supervisors and 25 hourly) in partnering with manufacturing to meet our production goals in a rewarding culture. Position reports to the Director of Continuous Improvement. 
Specific Job Duties:
  • Partner with business stakeholders to generate and manage a robust Sales and Inventory Operations Plan, including a comprehensive capacity analysis based on sales forecasts.
  • Audit manufacturing capacity constraints and collaborate with Plant Manager and Purchasing to find solutions to assure production schedule goals are met.
  • Develop and sustain the Master Production Schedule for Sales, Marketing and Manufacturing plants to ensure customer orders and specifications are met. Ensure scheduling complies with work order management, lot sizes and lead times.
  • Sustain appropriate levels of raw materials and WIP to ensure continuous progress in the manufacturing process.
  • Provide manufacturing team with the appropriate materials to support continuous progress.
  • Responsible for the efficient transfer of materials between facilities.
  • Assure that best practices for inventory management are documented and followed, including the cycle count auditing process.
  • Recommend and implement technology improvements that effectively use available system tools. Integrate material management into SAP software. Provide system training and support for manufacturing system users.
  • Lead a diverse team of on-site and remote employees. Develop their skills to grow with the company.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related area is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years leadership experience in the areas of Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Shop Floor Control, and Master Scheduling in a complex manufacturing environment.
  • High level of ERP experience, preferably SAP, as well as common business software.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and team building skills.
Annual bonus potential of 20% of base salary (consistently paid)
