Tax accounting skills are highly valued in the market place, often more highly than tax compliance skills. The rules that must be followed come from multiple sources. Not only does it require a thorough understanding of the U.S. GAAP financial accounting rules (ASC 740) and SEC requirements, but also requires a deep understanding of tax technical laws, rules and regulations – which are often not static and vary between federal and state and local jurisdictions.

International Tax Accountant

 

·        As the international tax accounting specialist your primary duty will be preparing the monthly income tax provision and tax balance sheet accounts for the foreign legal entities’ and foreign joint ventures

·        There will also be a focus on the preparation and calculation of the monthly income tax expense for some 150 foreign tax entities.

·        This would include monthly calculation of the annual effective tax rate and FIN 18 calculations using the company’s tax provision software.

 

Additional Responsibilities Include:

 

·        Transfer Pricing Allocations And Documentation

·        Preparation of monthly tax reporting packages for review by the Chief Accounting Officer

·        Ensure proper SOX documentation

·        Preparation of monthly and periodic tax forecasts

·        Communication with external auditors.

 

Requirements:

 

·        Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance

·        At least five (5) years of experience with US federal, and foreign tax laws in a corporate or large public accounting firm

·        Provision tax software experience

·        Experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Work, PowerPoint)

·        Strong organizational skills for multi-tasking.

·        Strong verbal and written communication skills to interface with tax and non-tax management

 

Preferred:

CPA and/or advanced degree a plus.
